Terrific Tuesday!

Day two has come and gone. I have to say it was a pretty good day. I was able to fit in an 2 mile walk, I remembered to have a morning snack (which helped tremendously!) and I did some more walking with my awesome neighbors this afternoon. At this point, I have accrued 15,574 step! Say what!?! Yay! Oh and I forgot to close the grill last night and we got some rain this morning, so I spent about an hour cleaning out our grill, more activity points for a total of 19 activity points today!

Here is what was on today's menu:

Breakfast (6 smart pts):
Juice Plus (4 smart points)
Light Vanilla Almond Milk (2 smart pts)
Strawberries (0 smart pts)

Snack (0 smart pts): Apple
Lunch:
Smart Ones Chicken Tenders and Fries (9 smart pts)

Dinner was another Pinterest recipe and it was great. Kind of high in points but totally worth it!  It was more filling than I expected which was a nice surprise. I dinner was going to be kind of high on points so I adjusted my day around it and I wound up only going over 2 smart pts. Not too bad!

Ground Philly Cheesesteak Grilled Cheese  (14 smart pts)
~18 pop chips (3 smart pts)
Green Beans (0 smart pts)

I didn't want to use too many of my fitpoints or weekly points since I am going to have dinner with a girlfriend tomorrow. I didn't realize how inactive I have been till after a day like today. I am definitely feeling all the activity. This is okay, it time to relax and enjoy some Game of Thrones!

Night!

Day one is done!

So, has anyone ever done this as well?

Yep, if only it was that easy. I have to say today turned out to be a pretty good day. I stayed within my smart points range and even got a little walk in after dinner. I got a little over 32 oz of water consumed as well, which is really good for me since I'm horrible about drinking water. I do need to start working out more, but I'm taking it one day at a time right now. I'm just going to focus on staying within my points range this week.

So here is what was on the menu today:

Breakfast: Juice Plus Chocolate Shake with Light almond soy milk and strawberries (6spts)

I meant to have a mid morning snack but time did get away from me. I did have a coffee with some creamer, so I guess that can be my snack today. (2spts) Sorry, no picture of the coffee.

Lunch was an egg salad sandwich with carrots and Mediterranean hummus from Trader Joe's. Man I love this hummus! (10spts)

Dinner was a recipe I found on Pinterest (one of my favorite sites!). We had Grilled Honey Mustard Chicken with broccoli cheddar rice and peas. (10spts)

Not to bad for day one. Now time for bed! :) See ya'll tomorrow!

Happy Birthday! (To me) :)

Today is my birthday! I'm officially 34. It was a great day of laziness, which doesn't happen too often in this house. I got to sleep in, have breakfast in bed, spend time with my family and do some binge TV watching.

But it is time for this journey to begin. One year to achieve a goal that I have had for so long but never have reached. To hit my goal weight of 135 lbs. 135 by 35.  I'm not sure what this year holds for me, but I am on a mission. I know I can do this, but I also know that I need to stay motivated and focused. I hope by writing here will help me stay on track.

Like most things, you need a starting point.

Starting weight: 178.8 lbs
Goal weight: 135 lbs
Pounds lost: 0 lbs
Pounds still need to lose: 43.8 lbs

I think that is totally doable-maybe I'll hit my goal early!

I have been on the fence about posting this picture, but I like I mentioned before, this is for motivation. So, I am posting my before pic. Aghhhhh! It isn't pretty but I know that I will not be this big again. Heck, I haven't ever been this big (with the exception of my pregnancies). So here it is....

See, so not pretty! But that is okay, you have to start somewhere. Tomorrow is a new day, and I am going to do this! See you tomorrow!

Proclamation

I'm on the brink of my 34th birthday. I will turn 34 in exactly 7 days. I am a happily married mom of 2 handsome boys. But like several other mom's out there, there is one thing that I would like to change about myself. My weight. Over the course of two pregnancies I have gained my fair share of weight.

So, what does my weight and age have to do with each other? Well, I always said that I wanted to be at my goal weight of 135lbs by my 35th birthday. It just hit me the other day that in just a little over a year I will be 35. It always has felt so far away that I never really got serious about losing weight. Lets be honest, it is so much easier not to think about it! But reality is starting to sink in and I think it is time that I start thinking and doing something about it.

Which is why I am here. I am not a writer and have never been good at even keeping a journal. But I need to do something so I am going to give this a try. I am going to journal, here on my blog, my next year as I work toward hitting my goal weight.

I will see you next week as I start this journey!
